Storm Damage Clean-up

Where does storm damage come from?

Storm damage is a fact of life in the Southwest Florida. Our location along the Gulf of Mexico, especially the barrier islands of Marco, Sanibel, and Captiva, leaves our homes and businesses vulnerable to damage from hurricanes, tornadoes, and severe thunderstorms that roll in from the Gulf. Wind-driven rain is one of the prime causes of water damage. Our daily summer thunderstorms can spawn lightning strikes, which in turn can spark fires.

No matter where it comes from, storm damage is most often a sudden disaster, and requires an emergency disaster response. We provide our services to Lee, Collier, Charlotte, and Sarasota Counties. We are not storm chasers; we do not dispatch our professionals to areas outside of Southwest Florida. YOU are our priority.

Fireservice Storm Damage Clean Up

What does storm damage affect?

In addition to the potential for direct structural damage, the high winds of tropical storms can down power lines, making clean up even more difficult. Fireservice Emergency Disaster Response is totally self-sufficient, our home base can be powered completely by generators so we can still be available to you 24/7. In the event of water damage, our trailer-mounted generator-powered extraction units provide continuous service.

How does Fireservice clean up storm damage?

Depending on the type of storm damage you have sustained, we will follow our best practices for emergency disaster response:

  • Secure and protect your property using boarding-up and tarping techniques.
  • Remove standing water and mitigate any water damage before mold can set in.
  • Determine what, if any, furnishings, fixtures, materials, and other possessions are salvageable and remove them to be cleaned, sanitized, and restored.
  • Remove items and materials that are not salvageable. Arrange for their disposal.
  • Dry out and dehumidify the affected areas.
  • Conduct air quality testing and thermal scanning to ensure there is no moisture remaining and that the air in your home is fresh and clean.
  • Provide you with an estimate for reconstruction services, if necessary.
